The key health indicator of a school is enrolments. Unfortunately, many schools overlook or rationalise early signs of decline in enrolments; putting the school at significant risk of further decline. This is because decline tends to accelerate until it becomes unstoppable.
A quick guide to enrollment triage is:
- Critical risk – school size has declined over three or more years, and enrolments in older years are higher than enrolments in lower years.
- Increasing risk – school size has declined in two successive years due to premature school departures increasing and/or new enrolments are at less than capacity.
- Inconsistent – overall school size is relatively stable, however there is significant fluctuation between year levels and/or significant turnover of individual students.
Eddee has a unique and proven process, to identify underlying issues in unstable or declining enrolments with recommendations on how the school can address them.
